Trae Story is a Brooklyn based visual artist from St. Paul, Minnesota.  His primary material affinities include ceramics, silicone, and metal.  His process usually starts on his laptop, where he uses 3D modeling software like a sketchbook to create cast and handbuilt sculptures at varying scales.  His work playfully points out inconsistencies within accepted and unaccepted cultural paradigms that often include deep-cut references.  Trae received his MFA in Ceramics at Alfred University in 2025, and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2024.  His teaching background covers everything from youth ceramic education, to adult community classes, to assisting ceramics professors at various universities. When he’s not in the studio you can probably find him out riding his road bike.
